Cuban citizens live their life in fear: My days in Cuba.

Mr. Gatkouth,

I believed that you were really impressed by the social and the nature of that country except that you were not free to talk your mine out. But....., as you were a visitor and a foreigner, I am sure you did not detect other sagas that effect Cubans in their daily lives. On and after the collapse of Soviet Union, West invested trillions of Dollars almost on the entire World to diminish Communism. That is why countries like Russia almost sank in poverty. China fought its way out but did not have any mentioned good relationship with the US. Both Russia and China do not have any good relationship with the US until today. More over the Cold War is not finish yet. Some departments still function the very same strategies. As you can see, most of countries that did not match the US sank under their own internal problems. Obviously that is another cold strategy that West uses to fight communism. They are always quick to impose sanctions and turn the country upside down. Delicately, War on Terror seems to have taken the priority of the West. Hence, communism is being despised not like it used to, however.

Under these circumstances, whether Cuba should be kept a friend or not remains irrelevant. We had and still having the money used to fight terrorism. We agreed that we wanted this money to rebuild the country and not communism or its affiliations. Time changes and so the situations in some countries. There will be a time that even Cuba will have to change. Also do not forget that West is working day and night to change Cuba. When Cuba is changed, then we will remember our old ties and rebuild them. All I can hope for the sack of the old good ties is to wish Cuba a quick recovery. They will understand that.

Abraham Nhial Deng Nhial, A New Southern Sudan's Defense Minister

Nhial Deng Nhial appointed southern Sudan Defense Minister
Monday 22 December 2008 05:30.

December 21, 2008 (JUBA) — The President of the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) and Commander-in- Chief of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), General Salva Kiir Mayardit issued a Presidential Decree appointing Nhial Deng Nhial as Minister for SPLA Affairs.

Nhial Deng Nhial is seen behind the late SPLM leader John Garang before a documents signing ceremony between a Sudanese government official and a negotiator from the former rebel SPLM on November 19, 2004.
The Presidential Decree No. 175/2008 appoints Nhial Deng, former GoSS Minister of Regional Cooperation, as the Southern Sudan army’s defense minister with effect from today, December 21, 2008.
The appointment comes after a statement by the Governor of Lakes State, Kuol Manyang Juuk, that he had been approached by Salva Kiir to fill the important vacant position since the death of the former SPLA Affairs Minister, Dominic Dim Deng, who died in a plane crash on May 2, 2008.
Nhial Deng, who belongs to the Dinka Bhar El-Gazal region, is the son of the famous late southern Sudanese leader William Deng Nhial, who was assassinated in 1968 by the Sudanese army. William Deng led the exiled Sudan African Nationalist Union (SANU), but returned to Sudan just before his death to take part in the 1968 elections.
Aspiring to his father’s role of statesman, Nhial Deng completed an education in Khartoum and earned a degree in law in the early 1980s.
Nhial’s resignation from GoSS ministry of regional cooperation in May 2006, only a few months after his appointment, brought controversy and debate over the reason for his departure. Some reports said it was because his ministry was financially neglected and with there was rampant corruption inside the government, or because of the significant funds spent on the integration of the SPLA with the SSDF armed groups.
However, neither Nhial nor any other official explained why he had quitted the nascent southern Sudan administration. Afterward, he left Sudan to settle in England for two years where he continued his studies of law.
As a result of continual attempts by his comrades in the SPLM, particularly Pagan Amum and others, he made his comeback to Juba earlier this year. He then caused a surprise by declaring his candidacy for the chairmanship he SPLM against Salva Kiir as well as Riek Machar at the second convention of the party last May in Juba.
Since then, he is seen beside Salva Kiir during his travels inside or outside the Sudan.
His appointment will likely be appreciated by the southern Sudanese army, which is dominated by generals who believe they are the holders of the legacy of the late John Garang, the founder of the SPLM.
The close relationship between Garang and Nhial once sparked rumours that Salva Kiir would possibly be evicted from his position as deputy chairman of the movement. But the matter was cleared up in a three-day meeting which took place in Rumbek from November 29 to December 1, 2004, one month before the signing of the CPA agreement that ended the north-south war.
The SPLM was originally the political wing of the SPLA, an insurgency that waged war for 22 years against the Khartoum-based government of Sudan, before joining the national government in a 2005 peace deal that also made SPLM the ruling party in Southern Sudan.
The SPLA uprising began in 1983 when John Garang, then the head of the army’s Staff College in Omdurman, joined guerrillas and the 105 battalion in mutinying and fleeing to Ethiopia.
The CPA established the SPLA as Sudanese army is southern Sudan while the Sudan Armed Force is considered as northern Sudan army. Both are forming the Sudanese army. The Joint Integrated Units formed in accordance to the peace deal are supposed to the nucleus of the future united army id the southern Sudan opts to remain part of a united state.
This week the Juba parliament passed the army budget; accordingly the SPLA gets forty percent of the southern region’s budget annually which translate to 400 million Sudanese pounds (US$187 million).

Giir Biar Found Not Guilty..Released

Date: November 20th, 2008
Hi Every one,
This is Giir talking,

It is so unfotunat that I spent five months in jail on a well planned political plotted incident against SPLM and some of you did not catchthe gold of its motivation. However, the paint is great butI missed every word, every concern and your wholesome of thoughts of promoting the justice in Sudan. After a two days trail, 8:30 Am to 6:00 PM in the first day and 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM Wednesday, November 19th, 2008, Giir Biar was found notguilty of Criminal Sexual Condoct in the Third Degree (Penetration)and Criminal Sexual Condoct in the Forth Degree (Sexual Contact) I was released 10:PM of November 19th, 2008, after the juries of 12 came with the verdict and it was NOT GUILTY. I am not going to go in details but if any one of you needs to question the incident, please feel free to ask. Until then, let me just say hi to every one. My first greeting goes to President Dr. Johon Garang "if he can hear me", Salva KiirMayardit (Freinds and colleague of my father Jarvas Giir Majok Biar) and the second goes to S.G. Pagan Amom, the well inheritant man ofthe hour. May God help us all protect you administration even with no any expectated return. It is for the sake of the nations that we sacrifised our education, standered of living and political advantigies to make you the best. It is with no return that I pleaged my voice and with consent that you have the ideal program for the country of Sudan. Any other crook plans, high level of revelution of what it might mean even if it is revenue issues, financial advantiges or army advantiges, will never have an effect on me. The SPLM will alwaysbe the number one unless proven wrong. I call upon all southerners especially Dr. Bona Malwal Madut, that we, with all our defferences, educational levels, that we keep one thing in common; the interst of the South. I just got out of a life time prison, a 25 years conviction that was planned, paid and commanded by our own Sudanese people, planned by relatives to begin with, aimed the SPLM, misstakenly used the idea that Dr. Garang was a Commoniest and that the only choice for theWest is Dr. Bona Malwal. I'd beeng held responsible for the fail of Dr.Bona Malwal Madut. If that is true, I would be honored. However, theFBI, CIA and State department need to know exectly what are our policies regrdless of what Dr. Garang was. It is not about Dr.Garang, it is about me, you and our children. Let us all be aware that we are in need of help. I do not have time that much now, but brievely, Long live the SPLM, Long Live the SPLA, Long Live the South Sudan.
I believed more then ever that we need to keep the SPLA functioning at all times. I recommend that there will be no change for the SPLA. We should never have a different army. Just for the sake of the our own rights.
I will talk to you soon in deapth.

Respectfully Submitted
